Monitor FAQs

There is no display on the monitor, what do I do now?

  • Check the Power: Ensure the monitor is turned on and connected to a working power outlet. Look for any indicator lights on the monitor (blue, green, or orange).
  • Check the Connections: Verify that the data cable (HDMI, DisplayPort/DP, DVI, or VGA) is securely connected to both the monitor and the docking station. If possible, try reseating the cables. Occasionally these cables can become loose over time, so reseating help realign the connection.
  • Wake the Computer: If the computer might be asleep, try moving the mouse, clicking the mouse buttons, or pressing any key on the keyboard. If that does not work, press the power button briefly.

What do I do if the image on screen is distorted or skewed?

  • Check the Cable Connections: Ensure that all cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA) are securely connected to both the monitor and the computer. Loose or damaged cables can cause display issues.
  • Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve display problems.
  • Reset the Monitor: Use the monitor's on-screen menu to reset it to its default settings.
  • Adjust Display Settings: Go to your computer's display settings and adjust the resolution and refresh rate. Make sure they match the monitor's native resolution and recommended refresh rate.
  • Check for Magnetic Interference: Ensure there are no strong magnetic fields near your monitor, such as speakers or other electronic devices, which can cause distortion.
  • Test with Another Monitor: If you have another monitor available, connect to a known-working monitor to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the monitor or the computer.

I get a 'no signal input' message, what do I do?

  • Check Cable Connections: Ensure that all cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA) are securely connected to both the monitor and the computer. Try unplugging and replugging them to make sure they are firmly connected.
  • Select the Correct Input Source: Use the monitor's on-screen menu to select the correct input source (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort). Sometimes, the monitor might be set to the wrong input source.
  • Test with Another Cable or Port: If possible, try using a different cable or connecting to a different port on your computer. This can help determine if the issue is with the cable or the port. If you do not have another cable with which to test, simply submit a ticket.
  • Restart Your Devices: Turn off both your computer and monitor. Wait a few seconds, then turn them back on.
