User Action Required


  • Use Cell Phone Hotspots: If you have a MORPC cell phone, please use its hotspot feature for internet access in public settings. (If you would like assistance with this, please let me know.) 

  • Request Verizon MiFi Hotspots: If you anticipate needing wifi access for a meeting in the near future, request a Verizon MiFi Hotspot from IT by submitting a ticket to support@morpc.org or via Freshdesk.  (Please note: A limited number of MiFi hotspots are available, so please plan ahead.) 

 

Purpose: To mitigate security risks and protect sensitive data.

 

Details: Recent developments in the tech space have highlighted the dangers of using public wifis. Cybercriminals can intercept data, compromise devices, and gain unauthorized access. We urge everyone to exercise caution on both work and personal devices. 

 

Action Plan:

  1. Avoid insecure public wifi networks.
  2. Use secure alternatives (cell phone hotspots or MiFi devices) for internet access.
