Type of the Notice: UPDATE - VPN Connectivity

Level of Impact: High

Urgency Level: High

User Action Required: Follow the steps below to disconnect from Zero Trust Telemetry in order to attempt connecting to the VPN. (This is a temporary solve to get staff on the VPN as quickly as possible, potentially without coming into the office.)

  1. Open FortiClient from the system tray on the bottom right corner of your screen.

  1. Click on "Zero Trust Telemetry" on the left-hand column:

  1. Click "Disconnect" to disconnect from the EMS Server.

  1. Once disconnected, please try connecting to the VPN as you normally would. Click "Remote Access" on the left hand column and then "Connect."

If this step still does not enable you to connect to the VPN, please schedule time to stop by ITS today or next week to have one of us uninstall the current version of FortiClient and install an updated version. Once the updated version is installed, we will configure the VPN to get you back online.

Purpose: To alert staff of a potential solve as well as a confirmed solve to get staff back online with the FortiClient VPN.

Details:  The team is still working through configuration for FortiClient in the background, but we would like staff to attempt to disconnect from EMS to potentially have staff not come in the office. If this doesn't resolve the issue, the newest version of FortiClient will enable staff to connect to the VPN once it has been upgraded by ITS.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the IT team should there be any further assistance needed regarding this Service Notice.
