Mobile Application Installation on MORPC-owned Cell Phones

Type of the Notice: Application Installation via MDM (Mobile Device Management)

Level of Impact: Low

Urgency Level: Low

 

Purpose: This is a notification to inform you about new Microsoft and other applications that will be installed on your devices through Mobile Device Management (MDM) today. 

 

User Action Required:

  • For Android devices, the installation should happen automatically in the background. No user action should be required.
  • Apple devices will require user action. When prompted, please accept the installation for any applications issued by MDM on your Apple mobile device. 
  • If you already have these applications installed, you may still receive a pop-up message to accept management of these apps by MDM. Please accept this when prompted. This will NOT change any functionality with existing apps. 

 

Details: The following applications are being pushed out by Mobile Device Management (MDM) to ensure all users have secure access to Microsoft applications as well as other secure applications utilized by MORPC. 

  • Microsoft Office apps (Including OneNote, Outlook, Authenticator, InTune, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc.)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Edge
  • Firefox
  • Gmail
  • Chrome
  • Forticlient


Action Plan:

  • The application will be automatically installed on your device through MDM.
  • You may see a notification on your device during the installation process.
  • Once installed, you will find the application icon on your device homepage/application list.
