Be Aware of the CrowdStrike World-Wide Outage

User Action Required: NO ACTION is required by MORPC employees at this time. 

Purpose: To provide a brief update on the developing CrowdStrike outage. 

Details: Over the last 48 hours, a cyber security company named CrowdStrike experienced a global outage after a Microsoft update. The story is still developing, but to everyone's knowledge at this time, this was an issue with a Microsoft update and not a malicious attack on infrastructure. 

Please be aware that MORPC does not have any services affected by this outage at this time. This is, however, a pervasive and global outage that is affecting entire industries such as shipping, airlines, credit card sales, etc. 

Action Plan:

• Be vigilant and on the lookout for any possible phishing emails that may attempt to leverage this outage for their benefit. 
• Keep flagging possible phishing emails in Outlook so that the IT team can investigate further.
